When I say I love to travel, I feel that those are somewhat empty words as I believe a million other people on this planet would love to travel as well. Luckier than some, I’ve had the opportunity to follow that passion. It’s true that not to the extent that I’d like, but enough to have made some wonderful memories and to have some stories to share. I hope this blog will help me travel even more.
I’d like you, my reader and fellow wanderer, to feel as excited as I am when I plan a new trip or discover a new place that I’d like to visit. I’d like you to think “I want to go there” or “I’d like to try that”, to be inspired and empowered to make that journey. Same as I do, when I spend hours online day dreaming and planning my next trip.
I was about 6 years old when I travelled together with my sister to the monasteries in northern Romania. It was the first time I went somewhere that did not involve visiting relatives. I had blast, made friends and needless to say, I took a lot more trips since.
Took me many years though, to take my first international trip – and that was crossing the border into Bulgaria, which was a mere 15km away from my home town. I was 17 at the time and what made it easily possible was the fact that Romania had just joined the EU and you didn’t need a passport to cross the border.
My first flight – at 22, after joining an international company which enabled me to travel to many different places. I was so excited by the flight, to the point that I almost didn’t take my eyes of the window for 2 and a half hours. When I would tell people that this is my first flight, they would unavoidably come back with a “…to Germany, you mean!?” – “No, ever!”
For 2 years now I live in London, a busy, international, contrasting city – cultures mixed together, daring architecture, personality and rush. And most important of all, a transport hub. I can now more easily travel to places which wouldn’t have been otherwise accessible to me.
My travels bring me freedom, excitement, novelty, unexpected, joy and relaxation, all things that make for lasting memories. I want to share those and engage with other wanderers, so I’ve created this blog. I’d also love to get to travel more and this is my first step in that direction.
Follow my page to read my stories, to fuel your wanderlust, get inspiration and help you plan. On my Instagram account I share photos from my journeys, which sometimes make for 1000 words, as the saying goes 🙂
Tell me where you’ve been, leave a comment and share your thoughts! We’re on this journey together!
